Get sambalicious and kick off Carnaval weekend with The League’s PLANET CARNAVAL cabaret show!

We’ll rev up our sequined bikinis and shake our headfeathers to Brazilian dance and the return of Uni and Her Ukelele, performing live tracks from her new CD “Lover’s Cliche“!

 
The sweet little songwriter is still at the center, but Uni and Her Ukelele has strummed up an army of saxophones, clarinets, and big band instruments to create her foot-stomping new sound. Uni goes multiple musical directions on her new CD “Lover’s Cliché”, trading her trademark solo ukelele sound for an electrifying backup band that switches styles from the Andrews Sisters to ELO to the Wall of Sound. If you ever been dazzled by Uni’s live shows, you owe it to yourself to hear her genre-plunking new release “Lover’s Cliché”.
Uni and Her Ukelele – San Francisco treat Uni and Her Ukelele returns to rock the Mission Control stage with her horn-y new sound! Chesthair A Go Go - Another balls-out boylesque set as Chesthair A Go Go takes Carnaval to a galaxy far, far away.

What’s that you say? You can’t get enough of Mission Control’s amazing, home-grown talent? You’re itching to rub elbows with swanky salon-goers? The League is ready to satisfy all your cultured cravings this April.

 

This month’s cabaret features a special event: the official EP release by MC’s own Wesley Morgan, of Swamp Noir! Go noir with broken-down blues rolling out of a Saturday night juke joint, and stumbling drunk into Sunday morning redemption. Junkyard swing that is ragged and raw… irresistible.

It’s old-style New Eccentrics! San Francisco’s favorite Vaudeville maestros will perform a live original score to a showing of the 1927 slapstick comedy caper “Fluttering Hearts”. This Roaring 20s featurette has scandals, speak-easies, and trannies — all the things we love at The League!

Whoever or whatever you are in your daily life, groom your inner gentleman and enjoy the trappings of masculinity. Or, if you so wish, slip into your inner lady of the evening and be the life of the party. We invite all men of refinement, shady ladies, fops, dandies, femmes fatales, muses, butches, quaintrelles, movie-stars, and otherwise nattily dressed persons into our inner circle. So put on the dog and come enjoy the company of San Francisco’s elegantly bawdy gentlemen. Swirl the brandy, puff your cigar, and survey your domain.

Gentlemen, dare to be dapper. Jacket and tie, ascot, or cravat. Smoking jackets a plus. Pinstripes and wingtips. Tuxedo formal. Pocket squares and cufflinks. A stingy-brim fedora or jaunty fez. Mustaches, real or painted on.

Ladies, dress to entice. Wiggle dresses, backless gowns, vintage lingerie. Fur coats and mink stoles. Garters and backseams. Old fashion burlesque. A little va-va-voom.
