Palenque 2012 Planning Meeting

Posted by Gravity On December - 27 - 2011

Sunday, January 8th at 5pm

Hello fellow Adventurers!
Thanks to everyone that has signed up for Palenque 2012!

If you have not signed up but are curious about the adventure of a lifetime, check out the official Palenque 2012 website.

PLANNING MEETING
Whether you’re curious and want to learn more, or you’ve already bought your flights, come and join us for a planning meeting!

ABOUT PALENQUE 2012

Palenque 2012 is an invitation, not an organization.

We have put an idea in motion and invited people to join us.
We selected a location and a date- the rest is up to you. It’s an experiment in self organizing celebration
We expect a hundred people will show up- maybe two. People are registering every day.

There will be performances, workshops, talks, rituals, music, dance, and storytelling, happening all day every day, but don’t expect to sit back and be entertained. We are coming together on equal footing, and your contribution is vital. Soon we will send out more information about the different ways you can participate. If you want to perform, teach, talk, guide, or lead then there will be an opportunity for that to happen.

Join us for an an exquisite evening of stylish titillation and ribald co-minglings at the unofficial and decidedly bawdy spoof of everyones favorite old world ponce-fest of a strikingly similar name.

Put down that arsenic and come from off the ledge of that bridge- our stylishly perverse and decidedly saucy CABARET will rouse the most listless of netherbits and tickle the most jaded of sensibilities.

Unloose that cravat and let out those laces for it’s time to let those
EDWARDIAN BALLS SWING FREE!

Dj Fact.50

Spinning an elegant and bum-wiggling soundscape in our grand ballroom.

“What’s Down My Pants?” to tickle your fancy pants.

Katarina Ray

Playing grand toy piano in her tiny top hat and such, Katarina Ray combines classical training with her love for edgy satire to create a lush soundscape of ideas, timbres and melodies.

Bunny Von Tail

Bunny Von Tail and her Gentleman friend Sir Raymond entertain and delight with their saucy theatricals.

DRESS: Fancy dress is not only delightfully and daringly celebrated at this sinful soiree, it also downright perfunctory!

Top Hats, coats, vests and tails, cravats and walking canes, corsets and petticoats, creepy Edward Gorey characters with pale skin and gaunt eyes, giant fake mustaches, tiny hats and fancy hats, ruffly undergarments, vintage undergarments, frilly and saucy undergarments… just lots of undergarments, okay? Justin Beiber Steampunk Chic, fake low hanging balls made from nude pantyhose and filled with rice, monocles, riding outfits.

Fetish, latex, leather, formal wear, sexy costumes, lingerie, uniforms, Steampunk are always welcomed! No Plain clothes, street clothes, jeans, hoodies, t-shirts, sneakers. Puh-lease!

Essence Community Presents:

Divining your Elemental Self: an enchanted ritual workshop

Led by Brendan Random
January 7, 2012 | 9:00pm – 10:00pm, doors at 8:45pm

Events at Mission Control are for members only | Become a member, it’s free and instant

Cost: Free with admission to Essence

Essence and Theater of The Sacred are summoning you to grow into the deeper, imaginal, fertile and sexy domain of your SELF-expression. From 9 to 10pm, before the party begins, please join director/educator Brendan Random for an earth-magic-ritual-theater workshop to Re-Divine your raw and sublime natural essence.

Brendan will guide us in moving meditation and elemental trance practice. Once in a deeper state of receptivity, divine, archetypal personages will be introduced for the poetic mind to choose from and dive into. The final portion of the playshop will bring participants together to interact and prepare for further engagement throughout the evening. What happens when a creature of fire and a creature of water interact? They make steam and possibly more. Find out for yourself at the Essence Playshop and get warmed up for an amazing evening of connection and exploration.
