Funny, witty, and light . . . the book is a scandal in the best sense, one that will have you reading the best parts aloud and reassessing your ideas about humanity’s basic urges well after the book is done.” — Newsweek

Founders of Mission Control

Come and see this star studded panel at Mission Control as they discuss the larger cultural implications of the book ‘Sex at Dawn’ with it’s author Christopher Ryan. Continuing on from the Open Relationships panel at the Supperclub the night before, this panel expands the conversation, focusing on the idea that so much of what has been considered ‘the darker side of human nature’ is, in fact, not natural to our species. We bring together experts who are modelling a new culture of sharing to talk about their experiences and insights on modern human behavior.

Artistic Collaboration
When you take people out of their everyday life, and give them the opportunity to create whatever inspires them, the drive to collaborate isn’t driven by money or fear. What is it driven by, and how can we replicate that ‘natural’ desire to work together in our culture?

Open Relationships
The default social norm in our culture is monogamy, and most people don’t even realize there is an alternative. How can we create new social structures that support alternative relationship models and give people the opportunity to explore what really works for them?

Alternative Currency
Our current economics are defined as ‘the distribution of scarce resources’. What happens if the resources are not scarce? Using technology to remove the need for a centralized system, and the ability to make new agreements about how we distribute our resources, what happens to people’s interactions when their ‘money’ is not scarce?

About Our Community
Mission Control is a membership supported and volunteer run community space- “a nexus of artistic, sensual and social evolution.” We have a core membership that we call ‘The Alliance’ and we host exclusive events for them, like workshops and panel discussions, as a thank you for their contribution.

“We seem most accessible to the synchronistic gifts of the Trickster when we ourselves are at or near boundaries or are experiencing transition states, periods of major life transitions seem to be occasioned by an abundance of meaningful coincidence. Personal gtrirowth sees not only to facilitate synchronicity, but in turn to be facilitated by it. As an archetype, the Trickster, the boundary dweller, finds expression through human imagination and experience.”
